Winthrop has many year round activities. during the winter we offer world class cross country skiing,with a trail system that's 200 kilometers long. You can snow shoe, go on a sleigh ride, ice skate, visit Loup Loup Summit where you can enjoy all the amenities Alpine skiing has to offer and snowmobile the many miles of groomed trails in the Methow Valley.

 

  

 

The fall offers excellent hunting and fishing opportunities.
During the summer there are many lakes and rivers great for fishing and water sports. You can take a guided river rafting trip, or a guided horse back ride. There are miles of groomed trails for biking or hiking. Bear Creek Golf Course is a regulated length 9 hole course with 18 holes possible by the placement of the back nine tees. It's one of the best maintained courses in the area. The scenic drive on hwy.20 makes Winthrop a popular destination for motorcyclists. 		 

 


Winthrop is the site of one of Washington's best Rhythm & Blues Festivals. There's a winery you can tour and taste a variety of wines. You can take a hot air balloon ride and view the beautiful Methow Valley. Downtown Winthrop has a variety of restaurants with plenty of night life, unique shopping, putt-putt golf, candy and ice cream shops. We have chainsaw art, glass blowing, art galleries and unique gift shops. Or you may choose to sit back and enjoy the beautiful surroundings of the Methow Valley.
